North Star Charter School Driver's Education

Session 3: Traditional in Class Instruction is scheduled for March 23rd - April 3rd; from 3 to 6 pm Monday - Friday. Behind the Wheel instruction will be scheduled throughout April and early May.

This program is offered to North Star Public Charter School Students as well as students in the surrounding area. This course includes:

30 hours of traditional in class instruction

6 hours of behind the wheel instruction

6 hours of observation

YOU NEED TO PURCHASE A DRIVER’S PERMIT PRIOR TO REGISTERING.

In order to purchase a permit, you will need to make an appointment with the ‍DMV. ‍To make an appointment, click on this hyperlink: DMV.‍ ‍At your appointment, you will need to bring the following:

  1. Original birth certificate

  2. Photo ID ( school ID card is acceptable)

  3. Social Security Card

  4. Parent or Guardian must be present

  5. Verification of School Compliance (VOC). The school office staff can help you with this.

When Registering for the Course

Advanced Opportunities Funds are allocated to students ($4625.00) for Dual Credit courses, college course, overload courses, college exams, and driver’s education.

Should you choose to use Advanced Opportunities Funds, $225 will be subtracted from your overall allotment of money. When the course is completed, the final grade will be posted on the student’s transcripts. If the course is not successfully completed, a hold on the Advanced Opportunities funds will be placed on the account until the course has been successfully completed.

If you want to apply Advanced Opportunity Funds towards the driver’s education course, type: AOFUNDS in the discount code section when completing payment. Only students who attend North Star Charter School can request Advanced Opportunity Funds!!‍ ‍Students who have enrolled for this driver’s education course and attend a school outside of North Star Charter cannot use Advanced Opportunity Funds.
