Designed for students who need extra lessons or drivers 17+, this course offers either a single 2-hour session or a 6-hour package. Each private lesson pairs students 1-on-1 with a certified instructor who builds skills, confidence, and safe driving habits.
Perfect for brushing up before the driving test or focusing on specific skills like freeway driving, parking, or maneuvers. Available for both students (ages 14-17) and adult drivers, each private one-hour session is tailored to individual needs, offering guidance, practice, and confidence.
Detailed Course Information
The All-in-One Plan
This plan includes:
• Enrollment in the DriversEd.com driver training course
• 6 hours of behind-the-wheel (BTW) instruction with a certified instructor
• 6 hours of observation with a licensed adult age 21 or older
DriversEd.com Online Program: The program provides 30 hours of state-accredited course material. Once enrolled, students have one calendar year to complete the course. Completion of the online program prepares the student for the next step in their driver training.
6 Hours of BTW Instruction: Students receive 6 hours of private, 1:1 behind-the-wheel instruction with a certified trainer. The training emphasizes patience, encouragement, and building confidence in new drivers. The 6 hours are completed in three 2-hour sessions.
6 Hours of Observation: Students will document a minimum of 6 hours of observation with a licensed adult over the age of 21. This requirement must be completed independently before finishing the online course and BTW instruction to qualify for their permit.
Parent Updates: After each drive, parents receive a detailed email outlining their student’s progress behind the wheel, along with guidance to support the six-month supervised driving period.
The Carpool Plan
This plan includes:
• Enrollment in the DriversEd.com driver training course
• 6 hours of behind-the-wheel (BTW) instruction with a certified instructor
• 6 hours of observation completed during BTW instruction
DriversEd.com Online Program: The program provides 30 hours of state-accredited course material. Both students must complete the online program before scheduling any behind-the-wheel sessions. Students have one calendar year to successfully finish the course, which prepares them for the next steps in their driver training.
6 Hours of BTW Instruction: Students participate in 1:2 behind-the-wheel sessions with a certified trainer. Each session is 4 hours—two hours driving and two hours observing—with a total of three sessions. This format provides encouragement, patience, and confidence-building while sharing the experience with a peer.
6 Hours of Observation: Observation requirements are fulfilled while one student drives and the other observes, allowing both to complete the necessary 6 hours of supervised observation.
Additional Benefits: A 10% discount is included, and students can learn alongside a friend or sibling, making the program both practical and enjoyable.
Custom BTW Sessions
This plan includes:
• Choice of a single 1-hour session, single 2-hour session, or 6-hours of BTW instruction
Course Overview: This option is designed for students who have completed driver’s training but need additional practice, or for drivers age 17 and older with a permit or license seeking targeted instruction. Students may choose the duration that best fits their needs: a focused 1-hour session, a 2-hour session, or the full 6-hour package.
Instruction Details: All sessions are private, 1:1 instruction with a certified trainer who provides encouragement, patience, and confidence-building. The 6-hour package is completed in three 2-hour sessions, while the 1- and 2-hour sessions allow students to focus on specific skills such as freeway driving, parking, or maneuvering.
Customization and Support: Each session is tailored to the student’s individual needs, giving them hands-on practice and guidance to strengthen driving skills and build confidence in a supportive environment.
