Driver's Education Courses & Driving Lessons in Meridian, Idaho

This comprehensive package includes 30 hours of online coursework, 6 hours of behind-the-wheel instruction, and 6 hours of supervised observation. Students receive personalized 1-on-1 training with certified instructors, while parents get progress updates and tools to support safe driving practice at home.

This 30-hour, state-accredited online course fulfills the classroom portion of Idaho’s Graduated Driver’s License (GDL) Program. This package is designed for students whose parents or guardians plan to provide the behind-the-wheel training.

Before registering, students must first obtain a learner’s permit from the DMV. To schedule an appointment, click on the hyperlinked DMV button to schedule. When visiting the DMV, inform the attendant that a parent or guardian will be completing the behind-the-wheel instruction. The DMV staff will provide the necessary steps and requirements to successfully complete the driving portion of the program.

At your appointment, you will need the following items to purchase your permit:

1. Original birth certificate

2. Photo ID ( school ID card is acceptable)

3. Social Security Card

4. Parent or Guardian must be present

5. Verification of School Compliance (VOC). The school office staff can help you with this.

Designed for students who need extra lessons or drivers 17+, this course offers either a single 2-hour session or a 6-hour package. Each private lesson pairs students 1-on-1 with a certified instructor who builds skills, confidence, and safe driving habits.

Session 1: The Driver’s Education course for North Star Charter High School will begin Monday September 14th. The classroom portion will be entirely online. If you are interested in your student participating the program, please read the following below:

This program is offered to North Star Public Charter School Students as well as students in the surrounding area. This course includes:

YOU NEED TO PURCHASE A DRIVER’S PERMIT PRIOR TO REGISTERING.

When Registering for the Course

Advanced Opportunities Funds are allocated to students ($4625.00) for Dual Credit courses, college course, overload courses, college exams, and driver’s education.

Should you choose to use Advanced Opportunities Funds, $225 will be subtracted from your overall allotment of money. When the course is completed, the final grade will be posted on the student’s transcripts. If the course is not successfully completed, a hold on the Advanced Opportunities funds will be placed on the account until the course has been successfully completed.

If you want to apply Advanced Opportunity Funds towards the driver’s education course, type: AOFUNDS in the discount code section when completing payment. Only students who attend North Star Charter School can request Advanced Opportunity Funds!!‍ ‍Students who have enrolled for this driver’s education course and attend a school outside of North Star Charter cannot use Advanced Opportunity Funds.

You will need to have purchased a permit and registered prior to September 10th, 2026.

A mandatory meeting will take place at North Star Charter High School on September 10th, 2026 at 5:00 pm.
